AlligatorCon

The Challenge

AlligatorCon is an annual cybersecurity conference held in Kraków, Poland. The organizers wanted more than a different poster every year—they needed a visual identity that could evolve over time while remaining instantly recognizable.

The challenge was to create a mascot capable of becoming the face of the event, adapting to new themes and stories without losing its identity.

The Solution

Santaplix developed the visual language around the conference mascot, transforming it into a versatile storytelling character that could be reimagined for each edition.

The first artwork drew inspiration from the legendary Wawel Dragon, reinterpreting one of Kraków’s most iconic symbols through a retro science fiction lens. As the event evolved, the mascot became the central figure of the conference’s identity, appearing in new settings and visual narratives every year—from subtle references in the early editions to the charismatic post-apocalyptic hero featured in the 2024 campaign.

Rather than designing standalone posters, Santaplix created a flexible visual system that allows the conference to reinvent itself while preserving a consistent and recognizable identity.

The Result

Over multiple editions, the AlligatorCon mascot became one of the event’s defining visual elements, giving each conference its own personality while reinforcing a coherent brand identity.

The project demonstrates how character design and visual storytelling can support an event far beyond a single illustration, creating a recognizable identity that continues to grow year after year.
