The Challenge

Minty Noodles commissioned Santaplix to develop the complete visual identity for Interstellar Adventures, a retro science fiction tabletop game inspired by the optimistic spirit of classic space exploration.

The goal was not simply to illustrate individual game components, but to create a cohesive universe where every visual element contributed to the game’s narrative and immersive experience.

The Solution

Santaplix developed the project’s visual language from the ground up, creating a distinctive retro-futuristic aesthetic inspired by classic science fiction while giving complete creative freedom to the design of alien species, environments and technology.

The project included:

• Character design for the game’s diverse crew and alien races.
• The complete illustration and design of the game box.
• More than 200 illustrated cards that form the core gameplay experience.
• Board design and additional game components.
• The design of the main starship, including the bridge, crew quarters and key interior environments.
• Props, technology and supporting visual assets that reinforce the game’s world-building.

The Result

Rather than creating a collection of isolated illustrations, Santaplix developed a unified visual universe that gives Interstellar Adventures its own recognizable identity.

Every illustration, character, and environment was designed to support the player’s experience and strengthen the game’s narrative, ensuring visual consistency across every component while inviting players to explore a vibrant retro science fiction world.
